Walgreens settles lawsuit over fake pharmacist at local stores

Walgreens settled a lawsuit Monday, filed by the district attorneys of Alameda and Santa Clara Counties, who had accused the company of putting customers’ health at risk by allowing an unlicensed employee to work at the pharmacies of various stores. The Mercury News reports that Walgreens, owned by Illinois-based Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., will pay $7.5 million to settle the consumer protection lawsuit, which was filed in Alameda County Superior Court.
